At the faculty of foreign languages, dictation in German was written by schoolchildren of Cheboksary Lyceum #2, gymnasium #4, and school #6. the students of the University. A welcoming speech was adressed to the participants of the event by the Dean M. V. Emelyanova.

The text of the dictation was read by ChuvSU German language teachers Yu. Yu. Klykova and S. Yu. Novikova. For each age category, the volume and the language level of the text met the requirements of the German language program for 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11 grades.

The All-Russian open campaign "Tolles Diktat-2019" (Open dictation in German) is held for the eighth time on the initiative of public organizations and is traditionally timed to UNESCO Day of the native language. The purpose of dictation is to popularize the German language and develop the culture of literate writing.

The event was organized by the Association of public associations "international Union of the German culture" with the support of the Ministry of science and higher education of Russia.

From the 23rd to the 27th of February Bryansk hosts the All-Russian forum-workshop "Victory Volunteers". 185 representatives from different regions of the country take part in it. The seminar is attended by a representative of the Public center for civil and patriotic education of student youth "Victory Volunteers" of the Chuvash State University, Yana Pavlova, a 1st – year student of  chemistry and pharmacy faculty. 

Heads of public centers at educational institutions and representatives of the Federal team "Victory Volunteers" discuss issues of getting ready to celebrate the anniversary. Within the framework of the project "Dialogue on Equal Terms", the head of the" Victory Volunteers " movement, Olga Amelchenkova, answered questions from activists, professional historians and Federal coaches. The forum participants also discussed the development of school volunteerism, interaction with veterans, and prospects for volunteering in the country. "Registration statistics on the site show that about 50% of users are young people under 18 years.  Schoolchildren's interest in our movement is growing. That is why today there were many questions about the organization of school volunteering. We also talked about new projects of Victory volunteers and actualized information from the regions of our country", – said Olga Amelchenkova.

The Results of the International Campaign "Test on the History of the Fatherland»

On the 13th of December 2019 in the framework of the international project "The Big History" the "Test on the History of the Fatherland" was held, which was also attended by deputies of the State Council of the Chuvash Republic.

The event was organized by the Youth Parliament under the State Duma and youth parliaments created under the legislative (representative) authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation.

This year, the educational event was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 and it was held for the purpose of historical education, patriotic education of the Russian citizens and compatriots living abroad.

In total, more than 10,000 sites were registered for the campaign in the territory of the Russian Federation. 54 sites were organized abroad. 817,250 people took part in the testing. The average score was 20.60 points out of 40 possible ones.

In the Chuvash Republic, 4,572 people took part in the action. The average score for the Republic was 22.05 points, the average age was 17 years.

Today I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU Palace of culture will host the opening ceremony of the Open regional championship "Young professionals".

During a week, its participants will compete in 63 competencies on 18 sites, which will be developed on the basis of professional educational organizations of the Republic.

In total, more than 400 young specialists from Chuvashia, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Tula regions, the Republic of Tatarstan and St. Petersburg will take part in the competition.

They will compete in 2age categories: "16-22", "16 years and younger".

For the first time in the Republic, the framework of the championship will include the "Skills of the wise" competition using the "Worldskills Russia" method. 25 professionals of the "50+"age group will take part in them.

The guests were welcomed by the Director of the gymnasium G. A. Lyakhova, the head of the Department for national relations and public communications at the Executive Committee of Nizhnekamsk F. Sh. Safiullin. Methodologists of the Department of education at the Executive Committee of the RT Nizhnekamsk district R. R. Ismagilova and T. N. Dementova, representatives of the Public Council of Nizhnekamsk participated as well.

The Deputy Executive Secretary of ChuvSU admissions committee O. E. Gavrilov told the audience about the Chuvash State University and its activities, achievements and material and technical base, faculties and areas of training, familiarized with the rules of admission in 2020, presented a film and presentation about the University. Associate Professor of the Chuvash Philology and Culture Department E. P. Chekushkina stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation with the Chuvash diaspora, invited students and teachers of the Republic of Tatarstan to participate in Olympiads, conferences and competitions held at the University. On the 18th of February a member of the Russian Rectors' Union Council, the rector of Chuvash State University A. Yu. Aleksandrov in the Intellectual center at the Fundamental library of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University  took part in the meeting of the Russian Rectors' Union Council.

Minister of science and higher education of the Russian Federation V. N. Falkov made the main report at the meeting. In the report, he spoke about the directions in the development of higher education system. According to the Minister, the leading role in training personnel for the economy and social sphere should be assigned to the regions. This will require closer integration between regions and universities.  "One of the key tasks to export education is to significantly upgrade the infrastructure and development of University campuses," said V. N. Falkov.  According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Education, the national projects "Science" and" Education " foresee participation of at least 80 universities from at least 40 regions of the country in the program of creating reference universities. 

The program to increase the global competitiveness of Russian universities among the world's leading research and educational centers will also be continued. "The entire system of higher education should be focused on interaction with the real sector of the economy," the Minister said.

V. N. Falkov paid special attention to the issue of access to free education. He informed that work on creating a new method for allocating budget places to universities is currently close to be completed. "Already this year, the number of budget places in universities will increase for those entering the next academic year. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the number of budget places will not be reduced, while a significant part of additional budget places will be directed to the regions, taking into account the needs of the regional labor market, " V. N. Falkov said.

The Chairman of the Russian Rectors' Union Council, the rector of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University  Academician V. A. Sadovnichy suggested Russian universities to hold a common day of memory and glory in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory. He noted that for this day, each University will prepare its own campaign, and a single broadcast will be organized throughout the country in the format of a video conference.

On February 20, interim head of Chuvashia Oleg Nikolaev took part in the Republican pedagogical forum "From a Pen to Software".

Before the start of the official part the interim head of the region visited the House of scientific collaboration named after S. A. Abrukov, he became acquainted with functioning of innovative platforms that were organized by the participants of the forum and visited the exhibition "From a Pen to Software."

Welcoming teachers from the stage of the Palace of culture of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, Oleg Nikolaev highlighted their role in educating young people.

"Tomorrow depends on the work you do. Its quality, our success. Because education, health care, and culture, as scientists and experts say, are important investments in a person. In other words, you are laying the foundation for the future by developing our children and giving them knowledge. The government of the Chuvash Republic will pay close attention to the development of all levels of education. As part of the upcoming changes to the budget, we will provide additional funds to carry out a major update of our educational institutions at all levels: preschool, secondary, professional", - said the interim head of the region.

Oleg Nikolayev called on teachers, business representatives and authorities to integrate, thanks to which it will be possible to develop a further strategy for the development of the Republic, to implement innovative investment projects. National projects should also help to achieve these goals.

A.Yu. ALEKSANDROV: "Creating the Environment of Opportunities for Students is a Priority of Our University»

We continue our conversation with the rector of the University A. Yu. Aleksandrov, which was started in previous issues of the newspaper (Ulyanovets, № 2 dated January 24, 2020).

Today we asked the ChSU leader to tell us about the University's development plans in the nearest future.

- Andrey Yuryevich, in the last conversation we touched on the topic of ratings. They have become an important indicator of the global education market. Is it true that ratings don't always reflect an objective picture? But one can't but agree that this tool is shaping social reality today.

– The importance of ratings, including in the field of education, should not be overestimated. Any rating has its advantages and, at the same time, sometimes suffers from one-sidedness, so there are no ideal ratings that comprehensively indicate the positions of a particular University  in the educational space. Nevertheless, we clearly understand that for those children and their parents who choose a higher education institution for their future professional career, its rating is a fairly weighty argument.

Recently, we have been paying more attention to the University's entry into certain ratings. For example, according to the results of 2019, the University entered the TOP 111 Russian universities in the "National Aggregate Rating". The integrated annual rating developed by the "Guild of experts in professional education" takes into account the position of 721 Russian universities simultaneously in all the largest lists of higher education institutions in Russia. All these universities are divided into 10 leagues. Our University entered the second league, which also includes the North-Eastern Federal University, the Crimean Federal University,  St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, and the Russian Chemical Technological University named after D.I. Mendeleev.

In the rating " National Recognition: Best Universities-2019 " the Chuvash State University ranked the 27th among classical universities with state accreditation and the 77th in the overall ranking of 695 universities in the country.

Putin spoke about giving the students the opportunity to choose a new direction or training program after their second year, including secondary professions. Next year Russian universities are planning to launch an experiment by changing the specialty…

– It is no coincidence that the President of the country voiced this topic. This issue is caused by the growing dynamics of technological development, which in turn causes the need for "increased readiness " of a future graduate for rapid changes in the market of professions. Secondary professions are a kind of resource for adequate response to new challenges.

- They say robots will replace people in many areas. What professions should be chosen to avoid being included in the list of "dying" professions? What specialties will be in demand among employers in the future?

– I think that the topic of "dying" traditional professions is overly heated. Very often,  the profession of an accountant is named among professions that faded into oblivion. Although it is quite clear - it will remain. Another thing is that its functionality will change significantly. New software products will be developed, and the accountant will have to master a number of new competencies. It is quite possible that the number of people working in this field will decrease somewhat.

As for the robots... they are designed to replace, in the first place, physically hard monotonous work. The future belongs to high-tech. The share of robotic industries and enterprises engaged in the development of new equipment and materials will significantly increase. According to the "Atlas of New Professions" the nearest future new professions will be in demand, such as  a specialist in bioethics, an IT-physician, an energy auditor, a controller of electricity grids for energy distribution, living systems designer, system engineer of smart grids, designer of home robots, smart environments cybertechnology specialist ...

- Andrey Yuryevich, digitalization today is much spoken about. How will this process affect education?

– Various aspects of society are being transformed by the introduction of new technologies. When we talk about  digitalization of education, sometimes it all comes down to online learning opportunities. Meanwhile, in the next few years, there will be much deeper changes that will cause a serious reformatting of the educational process. For example, there are global educational platforms (Coursera, Lectorium, Universarium), whose services are becoming more and more popular. This is very similar to the situation in the real sector of the economy, when the traditional taxi is replaced by Yandex network services "Yandex.Taxi", Uber. How much will this change the existing flows of people who want to get a University education? It is extremely difficult to answer this question exactly. This is, of course, a challenge to the existing University education. Or here's another example: today, automatic foreign language translator is widely used in everyday life. After all, solving a difficult task of creating a digital high-quality translation is a matter of the next few years. It will be possible to  read, watch and listen to any of the most complex texts and movies. It means that language barriers will collapse and the horizons of students ' opportunities will expand enormously, including in terms of obtaining international education. Is this not a challenge to any national system of higher education, or is it a reason for universities to review existing approaches to organizing education? 

– If everything is so global, then it turns out that fundamental knowledge will also undergo transformation?

– The new era of digitalization leads to increasing uncertainty in  both technological and social development. Therefore, a University graduate should be prepared for a very rapid response to changes in technology, ready for labor market transformations. Today, mastering a profession should imply the ability of its recipient to adapt to it. And here the issues of continuing education are highlighted even more clearly, and universities should become centers of such education, which, by the way, is what the Chuvash State University is striving for. 

And I would also emphasize that a deep fundamental nature is a trait that is inherent to universities, since we are talking about universities. Fundamental knowledge is not "overgrown with moss", old. On the contrary, it is a solid foundation on which the building of education is constructed and the structure of which can be rebuilt for improvement. For different fields of knowledge, these are anatomy, theoretical foundations of electrical engineering, theoretical mechanics, and others. It is fundamental knowledge that is the key to that very adaptability.

– The University's development Program for 2017-2021 sets the task of inviting Federal experts to ChuvSU. Why is this necessary?

– Among those who visited the University last year, there are such well-known experts as E. V. Bryzgalina, the head of education philosophy department at M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University  ; A. I. Pervushin, a popular Russian science fiction writer, etc. Obviously, a University that looks to the future should not stew in its own juice. We highly appreciate the competences of our teachers, but science is moving forward by leaps and bounds, and, of course, the latest expert assessments and opinions of leaders in certain fields of knowledge are extremely in demand. Such meetings and master classes motivate attendees to think and evaluate their educational level. It is from these considerations that the plan for inviting well-known scientists and practitioners in a particular field is developed for the current year.

– The infrastructure of our University is getting a modern look: educational buildings and dormitories are being reconstructed, new facilities are being built, and new laboratories and spaces are being built...

– The University is firmly on the agenda of national projects. So, within the framework of the national project "Education", hostel № 2 is being reconstructed today; according to the Federal project "500 pools of Russia", a swimming pool is being built for students at Universitetskaya street, 38, we plan to put into operation this year. The House of scientific collaboration named after S. A. Abrukov is also a "product" of the national project "Education", and the" Boiling Point " appeared as a result of cooperation between our University and the Agency for strategic initiatives.

In addition, we invest significant own funds in the development of the University's infrastructure. So, in recent years, hundreds of millions of rubles have been invested in repairing buildings and equipping them with the most modern educational and scientific equipment. For example, the educational and laboratory building of the energy and electrical engineering faculty, accreditation and simulation centers of the medical and chemical-pharmaceutical faculties, and laboratories of the Junior physics-mathematical department.

Creating the environment of opportunities for students is a priority of our University» Thus, reconstruction of hostel № 6 and building "Z" are planned, as well as construction of a new dormitory in the campus by Universitetskaya Street, a multipurpose sport playground in the campus "Technokvartal", reconstruction of building "G". It should be noted that our partners actively contribute to the process of equipping: with the support of Sberbank the audience "Competence of the Future" was opened; all enterprises of the electrical engineering cluster of the Republic made multi-million investments in modernizing the educational and laboratory base of technical faculties.

– Our University has ambitious tasks. What would you wish the ChuvSU team?

– I am convinced that if we do not set the high bar of development, there will be no serious progress. Therefore, when designing the future, we must proceed from the fact that we need to adequately respond to the challenges associated with rapid technological progress in particular and changes in society as a whole. This dictates the need to look at the University from the future, to think from the future. At the same time, today, in the present, it is important to effectively address current issues of staff training and Research and Advanced Development.

Solving such problems will certainly require extra efforts, creativity, and, perhaps most importantly, high cohesion and teamwork.

The Chuvash State University Hosted the Spring Stage of Cities Tournament

Yesterday, the center for work with gifted youth held the basic stage of the spring round of the 41st international mathematical Olympiad "CitiesTournament". In the House of scientific collaboration named after S. A. Abrukov more than a hundred students of 7-11 grades took part in solving complex mathematical problems.

The tournament was held in 4 rounds (two rounds – basic and complex - in autumn and spring each year). In each version of each round, the three best results for the tasks are taken into account. The participants who showed a sufficiently high result in one of the variants in any round will receive a diploma of the winner of the "Cities Tournament", and the winners who study in grades 10 and 11 are invited to participate in the final stage of the oral round – the  Olympiad of the first level.

It should be noted that the complex variant of the Olympics is comparable to the final stage of the All-Russian Olympiad and the ­International Mathematical Olympiad, the base stage can be compared with a regional stage. Participation in one tour or variant does not depend on participation in another. Each option is held separately for juniors (grades 7-9) and seniors (grades 10-11). Any student (of any class) can participate in the Tournament for his class or older. The tournament is held by local organizing committees in more than one hundred cities in 25 countries in Europe, Asia, South and North America, Australia and New Zealand.

The complex stage of the tournament will be held on March 1, 2020 at the MAEI "Lyceum # 3" in Cheboksary.

The works of the autumn tour are still being checked by the organizing committee of the Cities Tournament. When the works of our region are checked, their results will be displayed at the website of ChuvSU center for work with gifted youth.
