The Russian President Vladimir Putin Approved the Proposal of a Student of the Chuvash State University

Some days ago Vladimir Putin met in Sochi with awardees of megagrants and young scientists, those who work in the most advanced fields of science: genetics, nanotechnologies, medicine ... The meeting was attended by a student of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, Alexey Fedorov.

Alexey is a 4^th-year student of radioelectronics and automation faculty. In 2015 he was awarded with the grant of the Russian President and in 2017 he won the contest by the program “UMNICK-Sirius”. As is specified on the website of the Fund for promoting innovations, Alexey Fedorov was awarded with a grant for a research project to develop an automotive dashboard with a graphics interface for the automobile VAZ-2190 manufactured by PJSC “AvtoVAZ”. This design allows to abandon traditional solutions and offers complete replacement of the dashboard with mechanical pointer devices by virtual graphics devices, as it is practiced, for example, by some foreign manufacturers.

Two students were invited to meet with the President and scientists in the residence "Bocharov ruchei" – they were participants of the scientific conference "Science of the future" held in Sochi – Polina Shlapakova from MSU and Alexey Fedorov from ChuvSU. And, of course, before meeting with the head of State, they were a bit worried.

Vladimir Putin reminded that the first meeting with scientists — awardees of megagrants – took place in September 2016. Then the participants offered a number of important proposals and ideas on which work was organized immediately. During this conversation, scholars shared their views how to strengthen the scientific potential of the country and to create necessary conditions for the work of scientists in Russian regions.

Having noted that grant support is a very good help for the talented youth, the ChuvSU student made his proposal. "It would be good to extend the duration of the President’s grants to support students in their Master's degree programme, so that it would be possible both to graduate with good marks and then to engage closely in scientific work, — noticed Alexey confidently. — I believe that is correct”.

"And I believe that it is correct”, agreed the President, promising that the adjustments wiil be made.

A ChuvSU Student, Polina Petukhova, is the World Kickboxing Cup Winner

A student of I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU chemical-pharmaceutical faculty, master of sports of Russia, Polina Petukhova, won a confident victory at the World Kickboxing Cup WAKO. The prestigious tournament was held from the 14^th to the 19^th of May in Hungarian Budapest. Athletes from 39 countries of the world competed for the title of the winner.

Polina Petukhova was a decent competitor to her colleagues. A trainee of an Honoured coach of Chuvashia, Sergey Shaberdin, she performed in the weight category of up to 52 kg in section K-1. Paulina won the gold medal of the competition, becoming the owner of the World Cup for the fourth time.

We wish Polina and her trainer a successful performance at the World Championship, which will be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina in October this year.

ChuvSU Team Is a Participant of the Final in the Nationwide Festival «Russian Student Spring»

Not long ago there was a gala-concert of the festival "Student Spring-2019» at I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU. During a month 8 teams fought for the Winners’ Cup. And today the most talented participants of "Student Spring-2019» went to Perm to the final stage of the XXVII Nationwide Festival “Russian Student Spring” organized by the Russian Union of Youth.

The event is the "the finishing touch" of the most massive program for supporting and developing student's creative work, which is being implemented in Russia since 1992 and in 2019 it takes place with the support of the platform "Russia is a country of opportunities”.

From the 14^th to the 19^th of May Perm will bring together delegations from 75 subjects of Russia, 3000 people will present about 1000 entries. ChuvSU delegation consisting of 24 participants headed by the Director of the Palace of culture, Anna Zavorzaeva, will present performances in 6 creative fields. Performances will be evaluated by 39 experts – well-known film directors, actors, musicians, dancers, journalists and public figures.

A Working Visit

The Rector of the Chuvash State University, A. Yu. Aleksandrov paid a working visit to Togliatti State University. During the working meeting with the leadership of the University he was shown laboratories of chemical and engineering institutes, the engineering centre, the media centre of the University. Participants exchanged views on cooperation in scientific-educational and extracurricular spheres and agreed on signing a cooperation agreement between ChuvSU and TSU.

The Chuvash State University Was Visited by Representatives of Russian and Serbian Universities

The participants of the international scientific-practical conference "Modern Science: Actual Problems and Perspectives of Development", which is held on board the ship "Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya” following the route Nizhniy Novgorod-Cheboksary-Tetyushi-Samara-Togliatti-Ulyanovsk-Kazan-Sviyazhsk-Nizhniy Novgorod, on the 9^th of May visited the Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulianov. Rectors and Vice-Rectors of Russian universities, representatives of Serbian universities became familiar with ChuvSU scientific and educational base, visited the laboratories of automation means, high voltage equipment, electric drive and electric machines, microprocessor and relay protection, a digital substation, a training class of automated design systems.

In the meeting room of the Academic Council the participants discussed issues of cooperation between higher education institutions of Russia and Serbia; a presentation of universities of the two countries was shown. Serbian representatives told about higher education and research in the universities of Serbia.

The Rector of the Chuvash State University, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, and the Rector of Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering and Economics University, A. E. Shamin, signed a cooperation agreement between the two universities. The guests were given a tour around the city of Cheboksary.

11 Schoolchildren of the Republic Became Prize-Holder of ChuvSU Olympiad in Chemistry

On the 6^th of May the winner and prize-holders of ChuvSU Olympiad in chemistry were awarded in the meeting room of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University Academic Council. The schoolchildren and their teachers-mentors were congratulated by the University Rector, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, the head of the Center for work with gifted youth D.A. Troeshestova, the Dean of the chemical-pharmaceutical faculty, O.E. Nasakin, the Director of the research centre – advisor to the Director General of PJSC «Chimprom», Yu. T. Efimov. During the round table the participants discussed career choices, development of chemical science and industry.

The University Team Took Part in EUROBOT-2019

The "House-commune" of the National Research Technological University “Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys” hosted the Russian final of the international competition in designing mobile robots EUROBOT-2019. The theme of the competitions «Atoms Factory» was timed to coincide with the International year of the Periodic table of chemical elements. During two days 49 teams from different regions of Russia participated first in the qualifying races, then in the final ones.

The team of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, which successfully passed selection at the regional stage, was represented by: Sergey Limonov, a 3^rd-year student of the engineering faculty; Sergey Mishin, a post-graduate student of applied mathematics, physics and information technologies faculty;  Grigory Dmitriyev, a graduate of applied mathematics, physics and information technologies faculty.

Their coach was S.V. Solin, a senior lecturer of architecture and environmental design department at the civil construction faculty.  The atmosphere during the competition was friendly, close-knit, the opponents were ready to help in any situation. Our young people brought home a lot of emotions, inspiration to create even more technologically advanced robots and, most importantly, they gained invaluable experience.

These Days’ Glory Will Not Die!

Today the University’s Palace of Culture hosted a solemn event, dedicated to the Victory Day. War and home front veterans, the staff of students and University employees were warmly congratulated with the holiday by the Rector, A. Yu. Aleksandrov.

Those present paid tribute to the memory of those who got the Great Victory at the cost of their lives, gave us a peaceful future with minute of silence. Standing they saw off the delegation at the University for laying-on of flowers to the monument of Military Glory, the monument to soldiers killed in Afghanistan and local conflicts.

The festive concert program included performances by the Arts Faculty teachers, activists of ChuvSU Palace of Culture, a listener of ChuvSU Preparatory Department Zhan Sun (People's Republic of China), principal dancers of the dance company "Nota Gee" of the Chuvash State Philharmonic, the classical dance studio "Etoile", ChuvSU DC vocal studio "Quarto".

"We are the generation in whose name millions of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers gave their lives. We are future defenders of Motherland, we remember about the cost of the Great Victory, and we will keep this memory through the years in our hearts!" – these words from the stage of the Palace of culture sounded especially touching.  The words of gratitude, admiration and hope.

Solemn Procession in Honor of the Spring and Labour Day

On the 1^st of May, a traditionally numerous delegation of students and employees of the Chuvash State University took an active part in the May Day demonstration. In a friendly column consisting of citizens and guests of Chuvashia’s capital, holding the symbols of the University and the 550^th anniversary of Cheboksary, colorful flags, bright spring flowers and balloons, they passed a 6-kilometers distance from V. I. Chapayev Public Garden to the embankment. The indefatigable talisman Ulyan cheered people all the way and become a truly universal favorite of citizens, especially children. ChuvSU student construction and volunteer detachments showed the audience energetic dances and sang funny songs. Fairy tale characters and creative teams on interactive platforms cheerfully welcomed the participants of the procession, which culminated in congratulating by the officials and a theatrical performance in the Red Square.

Priorities for the University’s Further Development

On the 29^th of April another meeting of the University’s Academic Council took place. It was conducted by the University's Rector A. Yu. Aleksandrov.

Traditionally, there was the award ceremony. The Rector, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, handed the diploma of a full member of the Russian Federation Electrotechnical Sciences Academy, to a Doctor of technical sciences, Professor A.N. Mironova. Andrey Yurievich also announced that a ChuvSU Honored Professor, Yu. M. Mironov, Doctor of technical sciences, was elected an Honorary Academician of Russian Federation Electrotechnical Sciences Academy.

A. Yu. Aleksandrov awarded medical students, the winner and prize-holders of the VI International youth scientific forum "White Flowers" (Kazan). Anastasia Nesterova, a 1^st-year resident was awarded with the I degree diploma, a 2^nd-year student, Ayrat Abuzarov, a 2^nd-year student, Dmitry Sumbaev, a 3^rd year student, Leon Oganesyan, were awarded with the II degree diploma. A diploma is awarded to the team of the Medical Faculty who became the winner of the first All-Russian Olympiad in morphology with international participation in the nomination «Histology».

Our athletes were not left without attention either. Polina Fedorova, a student of economic faculty, Master of Sports of Russia of International Class, the winner of the XXVIII World Summer Universiade in Gwangju (2015), the European champion, the Russian champion in gymnastics, became a prize-holder and the winner in various categories of Al-Russian competitions in artistic gymnastics among students.

In the Championship of the Chuvash Republic among women's volleyball teams the team of ChuvSU took the second place. The hockey team “ChuvSU Mammoths” became the bronze medalist of the Chuvash Republic Hockey Championship in "Master" Division.

Our students showed good results in the Championship of Russia in mass wrestling: Nadezhda Osipova, a student of civil construction faculty, took the second place; Alina Alekseeva, a student of management and social technologies faculty – the 3rd place, she fulfilled the standard of a sports master of Russia; a medical faculty student, Anastasiya Alexeyeva, also won the bronze medal and fulfilled the standard of a sports master of Russia; future doctors Ekaterina Gracheva and Nadezhda Pozdova took the III place.

The main issue on the agenda was "On the outcomes of the University’s staff work in March-April and tasks for May 2019”, where the Rector, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, made a report. As priority tasks, he noted orderly conducting the examination session, participation in the open tender for grant-in-aid for scientific research in 2019 from the federal budget as part of implementing the activities “Carrying out thematic sessions in seasonal camps for schoolchildren in advanced areas of discrete mathematics, Informatics, digital technologies” within the Federal project "Staff for digital economy” of “Digital economy” national program being part of the Russian Federation state program “Development of education”; participation as co-organizers and moderators in Cheboksary second Forum of the Association of PFD Universities and provinces of the upper and middle Yangtze River from CHINA and others.

The report on the University’s international activities in 2018 was made by the head of the Division for international programs and academic mobility E.V. Nuzhdaeva. As she noted, last year 7 contracts and agreements with universities in China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Canada and Italy were signed. Our University was visited by 9 delegations from China, Turkmenistan, Canada, Palestine, Israel, Kazakhstan, Japan and Mongolia. 10 students and 13 teachers took part in international conferences, competitions, forums, training abroad. 7 lecturers and employees worked by programmes of scientific and academic exchanges. As part of the "Guest Associate Professor” and “Guest Professor” ChuvSU was visited by 6 foreign lecturers and scholars. The tasks for 2019 are: to increase the number of academic exchanges, international scholarships and grants by students, post-graduate students and employees of the University; to expand the geography of cooperating countries in educational and scientific spheres; to attract foreign lecturers and research fellows to work at ChuvSU.

The activities of Innovation-implementation and Engineering centers of the University in 2018 were reported by the head of Innovation-implementation Center, R.I. Aleksandrov.

The report on ChuvSU scientific library functioning in 2018 year was presented by its Director N. D. Nikitina. She said that the library fund includes 1652828 print and 91237electronic editions. Last year more than 25.5 thousand print and 90 thousand electronic editions were received. The readers have access to such electronic library systems as IPRbooks, "Yurait", "Student Consultant", "Lan’" Publishing House. The plans include equipping rooms for persons with disabilities with automated working places; creating a modern comfortable environment in the library.

The meeting nominated some lecturers for monthly state scholarships to prominent scientists of the Chuvash Republic, for granting the presidential scholarship to young scientists and post-graduate students engaged in promising research and developments in priority areas of modernizing the Russian economy as well as examined some other issues.

A Training Seminar for the German Language Teachers Was Held

Within the project "Days of Germany in the Chuvash Republic" I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU held an intensive training seminar in German "Aufgabenorientierter Deutschunterricht”.

The participants of the two-day seminar were more than twenty teachers and lecturers, teaching the German language at schools and universities of the Chuvash Republic. During the classes the teachers studied the thematic cluster "Communicative tasks in teaching the German language", examined new forms of planning lessons in contemporary German language, learned how to develop and do communication tasks for their pupils.

The seminar was conducted by the head of Goethe-Institute Resource Center at the Chuvash Republican Education Institute, Goethe-Institut multiplier Kirillova Valentina Yurievna.

Teachers and professors of the German language, expressing gratitude for the high level of organization and conducting the seminar, stressed that during their training, they increased their professional competence in the foreign language teaching, supplemented their pedagogical bank with new techniques and methods, modern teaching materials and developed a very useful material for its use in the educational process.

A Graduate of the Chuvash State University Foreign Languages Faculty Is the Winner in the Contest "Chuvashia’s Teacher of the Year – 2019"

On the 19^th of April Ya. Ukhsay Palace of Culture hosted a solemn honoring the winners and laureates of Republican contests in professional skills among pedagogical workers. The head of the Chuvash Republic Mikhail Ignatiev named the winners in six Republican competitions of professional skill among teachers. The winner in the nomination "Teacher of the Year – 2019" is an English teacher at Vurnary secondary school № 2, a graduate of Foreign Languages Faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, Olga Fizer. She admitted that the experience gained in the competition, is priceless.

Visit of Representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Russian Federation and the PRC Consulate General in Kazan

On the 22^nd of April the medical faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University was visited by representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Russian Federation and the PRC Consulate General in Kazan: the Plenipotentiary Minister of the PRC Embassy in the Russian Federation Fan Syanzhun, the PRC Consul General in Kazan U Incin, the first Secretary of the PRC Embassy in Kazan, Lee Sjen, Deputy military attaché of the PRC Embassy in the Russian Federation Zhang Czjanpin, an Attaché of the PRC Embassy in the Russian Federation Du Czinsjao, an Attaché of the PRC Consulate General in Kazan, Byan Syaocyan.

Within the framework of the visit, the Chinese and Russian parties discussed issues of preparing and conducting the session of II Forum of the Association of universities of the Russian Federation Volga Federal District and the provinces of Upper and Middle reaches of the Yangtze River in the People’s Republic of China. Currently, the Association's membership consists of 50 universities of the Volga Federal District, including I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University.

Results of an Intellectual Olympiad Are Summed up

On the 15^th of April the Rector of the Chuvash State University, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, met with the students of our University who participated in the IV Intellectual Olympiad of Privolzhsky Federal District among the students «IQ PFD». Andrei Yuryevich congratulated students with a decent result in the tournament, and discussed the ways to improve preparations for the intellectual Olympiad. The dialogue on further development of the intellectual movement at ChuvSU and students’ involvement in it was held with great interest.

The Results of the Third International Olympiad of Schoolchildren and Students in the Chuvash Language and Literature Are Summed Up

On the 13^th of April 2019 the third international Olympiad of schoolchildren and students in the Chuvash language and literature was held. 412 pupils and students aged under 25, living in the Russian Federation and foreign countries took part in it.

The Olympiad was held in two competitive areas: «The Chuvash language is our native language» and «The beauty of the Chuvash language».

The Olympiad’s contest «The Chuvash language is our native language» was attended by 57 winners and prize-holders of the Inter-regional Olympiad of schoolchildren in the Chuvash language and literature 2018 and 2019 in the following nominations:

– the Chuvash language and literature for schools teaching in Chuvash;

– the Chuvash language and literature for other schools (teaching in the Russian language, the Tatar language, the Mordovian language, the Mari language).

Among them there were 16 participants from the Republic of Tatarstan, one – from the Ulyanovsk region

Participants of the contest «The beauty of the Chuvash language» are pupils studying the Chuvash language and literature in Sunday schools or independently, as well as students of educational institutions of higher education and professional educational institutions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries (except for students enrolled in the faculties and departments of the Chuvash language and literature). The Olympiad «The beauty of the Chuvash language» was conducted in remote form using distance learning system of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University (http://moodle.chuvsu.ru).  355 students of schools, colleges and universities of the Chuvash Republic, Ulyanovsk oblast, republics of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, as well as the republics of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan took part in the Olympiad. In the contest «The Chuvash language is our native language» 6 winners and 14 prize-holders were identified.
