Anniversary Meeting

On the 25^th of December the Palace of culture of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University hosted a solemn meeting devoted to the 50^th anniversary of the engineering faculty. The celebration brought together students, lecturers and staff of the faculty, graduates, representatives of partner companies, delegations of ChuvSU faculties and other universities.

Those gathered were greeted by the University Rector A. Yu. Aleksandrov. He highly appreciated the contribution of the faculty to the development of industrial production of the region and the country, stressed the need to strengthen ties between the faculty and industrial and scientific organizations. Andrei Yuryevich noted that the engineering faculty mediates in the economy of Chuvashia, and engineering is the "backbone" of national economy. The Faculty has a considerable potential, it mastered modern technologies, skilled scientific personnel concentrated there, they have advanced scientific and educational equipment, their work is provided by skilled and experienced specialists. All this creates a solid basis for further sustainable development. The Rector awarded distinguished faculty employees with diplomas.

After the rewarding ceremony the Dean of the faculty, V.A. Gartfelder, told about the way passed by the faculty. Yu. P. Kuznetsov, who was the dean of the faculty from 1987 to 2012, shared his reminiscences about the history of the faculty development.

Welcoming words, congratulations and wishes of success were made by former graduates, and now leading specialists of the industry – General Director of LLC "Chetra-Mining Machines» V.A. Kalabashkin, Deputy Director for personnel management at PSC “Promtractor” E.G. Maximov, chief technologist of JSC «Sespel» M.V. Sarandaev, technical director of JSC "Cheboksary Aggregate Works", technical director of Public corporation ShZSA of the town of Shumerlya, Executive Director of CJSC ZISO V.N. Pastukhov.

Unforgettable amateur art performances of students, activists and winners of the Festival "Student's Spring-2018", "The Anthem of the Engineering Faculty" were part of the anniversary meeting.

New Year's Tournament

On the 22^nd of December the IV New Year tournament on table tennis among students, lecturers and employees for the prizes of I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU Rector was held in the gym of building "E".

11 Trainees of the Chuvash State University Became Winners of Scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation

The Order of the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation concerning grants of the President of the Russian Federation to previously assigned state academic scholarships for students and post-graduate students of higher education institutions for 2018/2019 academic year in the amount of 2200 (two thousand two hundred) rubles (monthly) was published. Among the winners of the scholarships of the President of Russia there are 11 trainees of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University: Kirill Agalakov, Dmitry Maroko, Elena Fedorova, Irina Stepanova (Law Faculty), Nikolay Ivanov, Anastasia Sergeyeva, Elizaveta Kunitskayte (Faculty of Medicine), Anton Andreev (Faculty of Computer Science and Computer Engineering), Nadezhda Polutova (Faculty of Radioelectronics and Automation), Anna Krasnova (Faculty of Economics).

The scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation to previously assigned state academic scholarship in the amount of 4500 (four thousand five hundred) rubles (monthly) is granted to the student Anna Timoshenkova (Faculty of Medicine).

The Most Active Volunteers Were Honored

Summing up and closing of the volunteer year passed at ChuvSU. The Volunteer Center of the Chuvash State University awarded the most active volunteers. The chief of extracurricular work and safety department O. N. Viktorov, executives of committees thanked students for their participation in the projects and gave them gifts. There was also a presentation of the movie "I am a volunteer. The history of those who care ".

Anhui Universities of China and ChuvSU: cooperation is expanding

On the 20^th of December the assembly hall of the Academic Council of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University hosted a meeting between the delegation of seven universities in Anhui Province of the People's Republic of China and ChuvSU leadership and academic teaching staff.

ChuvSU Rector, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, told the guests about the priorities of the University, development of cooperation with foreign countries. The Rector of Anhui Architecture University Fan Tsyashen and the Rector of Tongling University Nee Guoay on behalf of the Chinese delegation expressed gratitude to the staff of the Chuvash State University for their warm welcome, described their impressions after visiting faculties and the University History Museum, acquainted with opportunities of Chinese universities to enhance international cooperation with ChuvSU.

The agreement of cooperation between I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University and Tongling University of China in the field of research, development of academic mobility of students and joint educational programs was signed.

I.N. Ulianov Chuvash State University Successfully Passed Another State Accreditation

On the 19^th of December the site of the Federal service for supervision in the sphere of education and science published the expert opinion based on the results of accreditation examination on basic education programmes implemented by I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University. Based on the results of accreditation examination, ChuvSU and its Alatyrsky branch once again successfully passed state accreditation of all educational programs. The University confirmed its right to conduct educational activities by programmes of higher education for the next 6 years. Accreditation commission experts confirmed their full compliance with the requirements of the Federal state educational standards, gave a positive assessment to programs’ content and the quality of students’ training at the University.

In accordance with order No. 1680 dated December 19, 2018 the Federal service for supervision in the sphere of education and science recognized that I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University passed state accreditation of educational activities in relation to levels of vocational education on integrated groups of occupations, professions and areas of training.

Victory in the Contest of Research Works on Anti-Corruption Theme

A student of the Law Faculty at the Chuvash State University Polina Yakovleva won in the contest of research works on the anti-corruption theme. The contest was held by the Ministry of education of the Chuvash Republic among students, postgraduates and young scientists. In total 14 works were submitted from representatives of 9 educational organizations, including 4 higher education, 5 technical schools and colleges.

On the basis of the decision made by the Commission members the 1^st place was awarded to Polina Yakovleva, a ChuvSU student for her work "Problems in combating corruption in Russia”.

Schoolchildren and Students of Chuvashia Are Winners of the Final Round of the International Festival on the Literatures of the Peoples of Russia and Turkic-Speaking countries of the CIS

From 9 to 12 December Leo Tolstoy Institute of philology and cross-cultural communication at Kazan Federal University in Kazan hosted the final round of the International Festival for students on the literatures of the peoples of Russia and Turkic-speaking countries of the CIS. The founders of the Festival are the Ministry of education of the Russian Federation and Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University.

A 10^th grade student of the Opoytny settlement school of Tsivilsk district Anna Egorova became the winner and the holder of the 3^rd degree diploma in the final round of the International Festival of literatures of Turkic-speaking peoples of Russia and CIS countries (research manager is Tatyana Petrova, Chuvash language and literature teacher). Among prize-holders of the Festival there is a ChuvSU student – Anastasia Fedorova, a student at the Faculty of Russian philology and journalism of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University (supervisor – Elena Chekushkina, Associate Professor of the Chuvash language and culture department).

As we have informed, the International Festival was held in two rounds. The regional extramural round, which was held in mid-October, brought together about 2 thousand senior pupils and students from 4 CIS countries and 11 national republics of the Russian Federation. During this stage students submitted essays on one of the proposed directions, and students submitted research papers. In the final round of the Festival was attended by more than 130 pupils and students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Altai, Bashkortostan, Buryatia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kalmykia and Komi, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Khakassia, Sakha (Yakutia). During the Festival recitals with writers, poets, translators were held; excursions to the Kazan University, best city museums and Memorial places were organized as well.

International Festival-Сontest «Intercultural Dialogue»

Medical students of the Chuvash State University from Egypt took part in the International Festival-Contest "Intercultural Dialogue". Creative competitions were held in four areas: "Choreography", "Vocals", "Word Art", "Theatre of miniatures". By the results the winner of II degree in nomination "Vocal" is Mahmoud Takher, III degree prize-holder in the nomination " Word Art" is Paula Vagikh.

Academic Group EE 21-16 of Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering Faculty Entered the Top Three Groups of Russia

From the 6^th to the 9^th of December the city of Tyumen hosted a gathering of the best academic groups of Russian higher educational institutions. According to the results of three competition days in a team scoring the academic group EE 21-16 of energy and electrical engineering faculty won the 3^rd place in Russia. In the contest of presentations the best academic group of the University won the second place.

Academic Olympiad For the Best Mastery of English

On the 4^th of December the Faculty of foreign languages held the Academic Olympiad for the best mastery of the English language among the students of humanitarian, medical and scientific faculties. The competition was attended by students who had passed preliminary testing and who had shown the best results.

Participants of the Academic Olympiad passed three kinds of tests: listening, e-testing as well as speaking on one of the topics. The tasks complexity was consistent with levels B1-B2 (Intermediate – Upper Intermediate level).

Students showed good knowledge of the foreign language as well as their ability to speak without preparation. Prize-winners are the students of the medical faculty Ramilya Fashutdinova, Konstantin Stepanov, Juliana Makarova, Sarhan Zalov.

Sberbank Came to the University

It is for the first time in the Republic that the Bank opened a specialized audience in a high school. At the entrance to one of the classrooms at ChuvSU Economics Faculty there is a new plate — «Specialized audience of PJSC «Sberbank» «Competences of the future».

The idea is to raise the staff beginning with their student years comes from the President of Sberbank Herman Gref. A few years ago partnership agreements with leading universities of the country were concluded; among them are the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. These agreements foresaw conducting joint educational and research projects, as well as selection and training capable students for their future work in the bank. Now this practice expanded into regions.

The project was presented by the Chief Manager of the Chuvash branch of Sberbank Yuri Bychkovsky. "We are one of the best, one of the first in the Russian banking market. But if we calm down after achieving that and stay still, we shall inevitably lose”, he started with the basics of competitiveness. That is why we improve our approaches in working with clients, conclude agreements with other leaders in the market, uniting in joint projects”,-said Yuri Borisovich.

Sberbank and the largest University of the Republic signed a strategic partnership agreement. Lessons in the classroom "Competences of the future" will take place every week on an optional basis. The curriculum includes such subjects as "Problem-solving and critical thinking”, “Leadership”, “Project management, analytics and data management", etc.

Among the speakers are ChuvSU professors trained at the Corporate University of Sberbank, successful graduates of this University and clients of Sberbank, who reached much in promoting their own business, major specialists in economics and finance from other regions of the country.

At the end of the course students will have to develop their own business project, to pass an online-test and an interview with the heads of Sberbank subdivisions.

ChuvSU Students-Volunteers Are Participants of the International volunteers’ Forum

10 students-volunteers of different faculties of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University took part in the chief final event of the year of a volunteer in the Russian Federation – International Forum of volunteers, which was held in Moscow from the 2^nd to the 6^th of December.

More than 15 000 leaders of the socially-oriented NGOs and projects, managers of volunteer centers and volunteer associations, representatives of Russian and international volunteer corps from all Russian regions and 100 countries of the world participate in charity actions, discussion sections, public discussions, master-classes, Gala-concert of stars of the Russian show business. In the framework of the Forum, the annual prize “Volunteer of Russia-2018” will be awarded as well.

Forum «Student Russia»

Students of Economy and Law faculties of the Chuvash State University participated in the V All-Russian Forum "Student Russia”. More than 500 youth leaders from 70 different regions formed road maps of activities for the coming year. There was a meeting with the Russian Federation Minister of science and higher education, M.M. Kotukov, who told about the work and new projects of the Ministry and answered students’ questions. In the framework of the Forum the VI Congress of the All-Russian public movement "Youth Association of Students and Student Associations of Russia», took place which elected a new Chairman and members of its governing bodies. Arthur Melitonyan, ex-head of Adygea ASO regional branch was elected the Chairman.

On-site Round of Academic Olympiad "Hope of Chuvashia engineering"

On the 1^st of December the Engineering Faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University hosted a face-to-face round of the academic Olympiad "Hope of Chuvashia engineering” for students of the 9^th -11^th classes, graduate students of colleges and technical schools. The organizers of the academic Olympiad were the Chuvash State University, the Russian Engineering Union and the concern «Tractor Plants».

Prospective university students were welcomed by the Deputy Chairman of the Chuvash Republic Cabinet of Ministers – Minister of economic development, industry and trade of the Chuvash Republic, Avrelkin V.A., the Mayor of Cheboksary, ChuvSU Vice-Rector E.N., Kadyshev,  the Technical Director of JSC "Promtractor" A.I. Kulyasov, the Dean of engineering faculty V.A. Gartfelder, doctor of technical sciences, Professor at ChuvSU mechanical engineering department D.V. Lobanov.

431 people participated in the extramural round of the academic Olympiad, 336 of them passed to the face-to-face round.  Geography of participants is represented by the towns of Cheboksary, Novocheboksarsk, Kanash, Tsivilsk, Shumerlya, as well as Batyrevsky, Ibresinsky, Komsomolsky, Krasnoarmeysky, Yalchiksky, Cheboksarsky regions of the Chuvash Republic.
