Good results were showed by schoolchildren and students of Chuvashia at the first All-Russian Olympiad on state languages of the country’s republics

More than six and a half thousand people participated in the qualifying stage of the Olympiad. Of them 138 students and senior graders from 17 regions of the country, including 6 young people from our Republic passed to finals.

Some days ago the final round was held in Moscow. Participants passed comparative testing: they wrote an essay on the topic related to cultural characteristics of the state languages of Russia’s regions, defended their presentations about the native land, recited poems in their native language and translated them into Russian.

On National Unity Day in the State Museum of A.S. Pushkin rewarding of the best participants of the linguistic competitions was held. One of 10 winners of the Olympiad became a student of Nurgechinskaya secondary school of Komsomolsky region Anastasia Belkina.

Among the prize-winners there was a student of the Faculty of Russian and Chuvash philology and journalism of ChuvSU Maria Samdelova who distinguished herself in preparing presentations on Chuvash land and a student of the Faculty of history and Philology of Chuvash Teachers’ Training University Irina Surskaya. According to organizers, the Olympiad became a real event of international communication, the feast of the wealth of languages and cultures of the peoples of Russia.

On the 2^nd of November at Vitebsk State Medical University (Republic of Belarus) within the framework of the XVI International Conference of students and young scientists "Student medical science of XXI century" the I Youth scientific societies Forum was held. The main tasks of the Youth Forum of scientific societies were the following:

- youth activity development in scientific and educational environment;

- strengthening ties in scientific and educational environment;

- exchange of experience and technologies for youth innovation potential development;

- implementation of joint projects in the field of medicine.

The Forum was attended by representatives of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University – assistant professor of department of records management, information resources and auxiliary historical disciplines, President of young scientists and specialists Council of the Chuvash Republic O.V. Shumilova and assistant of faculty therapy department, Deputy Chairman of young scientists and specialists Council of ChuvSU in natural sciences T. N. Prokopieva. In the form of a report and a presentation they presented the activities of young scientists and specialists Council of the Chuvash Republic and main directions of research of the medical faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University. The I Forum of youth scientific societies is a new event in the world of medical science, bringing together youth leaders and participants of scientific societies of universities of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Ukraine. During the Forum participants agreed on basic directions of joint scientific activities, in particular, publications in journals.

A specialized department of information technology and cybersecurity of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University was opened in the company “Casesystems”

On the 3^rd of November an opening ceremony ofa specialized department of information technology and cybersecurity of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University took place at LLC “Casesystems”. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of information policy and mass communications of the Chuvash Republic A.S. Ivanov, the Rector of ChuvSU A.Yu. Alexandrov, the CEO of «Casesystems” A. A. Matrosov. The meeting was also attended by lecturers of the Faculty of Informatics and computer science, representatives of companies – members of the Association "Information technologies of the Chuvash Republic”, students, schoolchildren.

Then in the Conference Hall the Rector A. Yu. Alexandrov and the CEO of «Casesystems” A. A. Matrosov signed an agreement on opening the chair between LLC " Casesystems " and I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU. They noted that cooperation between the company and the faculty started many years ago. Excursions in the company and open lectures are available for future IT-professionals and paid on-the-job training with opportunities of subsequent employment are organized for students. Opening of a specialized department of informatics and computer engineering faculty has become the next important stage in efforts to improve the quality of training and comprehensive development of young IT-professionals in Chuvashia.

The guests were given an excursion to the office "Casesystems". That day the Deputy CEO S.N. Sergeev and the head of technical information protection I. A. Fedorov conducted open lectures on the theme “Information technologies today and tomorrow" and "Cybersecurity in modern world".

On the 1^st of November a working meeting of the Rector of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University A. Yu. Alexandrov and the Pro-Rector for scientific activities and integration with manufacturing of Kazan national research University I.A. Abdullin took place. They discussed further cooperation within the framework of cooperation agreement between the two Universities in the field of research and educational activities.

ChuvSU team at the III International Students’  Olympiad in theory of machines and mechanisms

On the 20^th and the 21^st of October the University of Carlos III (Madrid, Spain) hosted the III International Students’ Olympiad in theory of machines and mechanisms (SIOMMS 2016).

The Olympiad brought together the strongest students – there were 15 teams from seven countries (Russia, Spain, China, the United States, Germany, Japan, Peru). The participants were to solve five tasks in two rounds of the Olympiad (three tasks and two more after a break). The Olympiad was held in English.

Students of Engineering Faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University competed with teams from prestigious and top-rated universities of the world. ShanghaiJiao TongUniversity is regarded on an equal basis with the Massachusetts University of Technology; other universities --- participants from China, Japan and Germany are also known for their academic achievements.

Places at SIOMMS-2016 were as follows: 1st place – the University of Seville (Spain), 2nd place – the University of Jiao Tong (Shanghai, China), 3rd place – N. E. Bauman MSTU (Moscow, Russia). Our team consisting of Alexander Alekseev, Andrey Efimov, Nikita Dimitriev and Yevgeny Petrov (supervisor – Associate Professor N.P. Petrov), decently acted in the team event, leaving behind, in particular, several Russian teams and teams of the United States, Germany, Peru.

Among Russian universities participating in the competition, ChuvSU team won the second place, beating the team of M. T. Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, Samara State Aerospace University and Kostroma State Technological University. As this academic year the All-Russian Olympiad in theory of machines and mechanisms will not be organized t, the results shown by our team can also be seen as the II Prize in an informal competition of the strongest Russian teams.

Engineering Faculty students were winners of the 1st international students Olympiad in the theory of machines and mechanisms in 2011 (Izhevsk) in both the team and individual competitions; in the II international student Olympiad in the theory of machines and mechanisms in 2013 (Shanghai, China) won the second place and became winners in the nomination "Best foreign team."

More than 100 representatives of active rural youth participated in School of young active functionaries

More than 100 representatives of active rural youth of Kanash region participated in School of young active functionarieswhich washeld in the rural club in the village of Maly Bikshikhy. The Head of youth policy department of the Ministry of education of Chuvashia Anna Golovina informed the participants about the results of 2016 campaign, on support of talented youth in Chuvashia.

Within the framework of educational program the participants visited venues for social design, development of youth employment and volunteer movements and patriotic upbringing. Students of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, representatives of the volunteer centre of Cheboksary as well as anAfghanistan combat veteran became experts of School of young active functionaries. Participants of the School of young active functionarieswill now have to apply the acquired knowledge in their social and educational activities.

On the 26^th of October 26 at the art museum named after A. A. Kokel of the Chuvash State University a regular meeting of University foreign students council was held. It was attended by Vice-Rector for academic affairs I.E. Poverinov, the head of youth initiatives and community-based organizations department of the Ministry of education and youth policy of Chuvashia A.G. Golovina. The meeting with foreign students took place in the run-up to a single youth information day.

Over 1000 foreign students from 43 countries are taught at the Chuvash State University. Many of them live in student dormitories. Matters relating to the welfare of foreign students, tolerance promotion, harmonizing inter-ethnic relations in student environment were discussed at the Council meeting.

A lesson of intercultural communication circle "Discover the world"

On the 27^th of October at the Department of Russian Philology of Russian and Chuvash philology and journalism Faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University a lesson of intercultural communication circle "Discover the world" was held. 10-graders of school № 64 of Cheboksary were the guests of the circle. The meeting was devoted to exploring the Arab script. Dawood Sameh and Mlajes Mohamad, students-dentists of ChuvSU from Syria told schoolchildren about the Arabic alphabet and the ways of writing letters.

Schoolchildren learnt about distinctive features of Arabic writing, among which the main ones are: left hand sidedness – lines direction from the right to the left; abundance of superscript or subscript characters that are required for recognition of letters; lack of capital letters; modification of letters depending on their position in a word.

Students from Syria showed different ways of writing letters and offered students to try to write words in Arabic script. Master-class in Arab script was very interesting, schoolchildren asked to continue it at the next lesson which will take place on the 30^th of November.

On the 26^th of October inmates of state-financed institution “Social rehabilitation centre for juveniles of the town of Cheboksary» of Chuvashia’s Ministry of Labour and Social Security were visited by students of Volunteer Center of I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU. Volunteers prepared a master class "Drawing" aimed at developing creative abilities and a lesson in acting.

At first children tried to draw straight lines, and then tried to make a picture of given figures and to tell about their work. Girls and boys used all their imagination in this work.

During the lesson in acting kids developed their speech using tongue twisters, expressed different emotions using facial expressions. The event was friendly; children living in the Centre got to know each other better that influenced their team spirit.

The 10th jubilee Ashmarinsky readings took place at I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University. At the international scientific-practical conference Chuvash followers of the great scientist together with colleagues from different countries presented over 200 reports. And once again problems and prospects of Chuvash literature development were discussed.

On the 21^st -22^nd of October within the framework of scientific-educational project «School of a therapeutic patient in memory of Professor V.N. Saperov. Opportunity to save life at sound clinical practice” an interregional conference "Chronic kidney disease: is there any chance?" is held.

The scientific program of the Conference is devoted to actual problems of therapy, nephrology, endocrinology, urology and surgery. During the Conference it is scheduled to hold schools, master classes with certificates issuance and publishing a compendium of the Conference on designated topics.

On the 20^th of October in the meeting room of the Academic Council of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University a scientific session and a general meeting of Electrotechnical Sciences Academy of Chuvash Republic was held. The meeting was presided by the President of the Academy of G.S. Nudelman, Vice-President, Pro-Rector in scientific work E.N. Kadyshev. The session discussed challenges of training specialists for innovative enterprises.

On the 13^th of October in the Assembly Hall of the Academic Council of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University under the chairmanship of the Rector A. Yu. Alexandrov a meeting of deans took place. Issues relating to organization of curators’ work for implementation of the programme on freshmen adaptation, to preparation for socio-professional accreditation of the chemical-pharmaceutical faculty, to publication activity of lecturers were discussed. 

Circle of foreign languages «World around me: languages and cultures»

On the 12^th of October at foreign languages faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University a circle of foreign languages "World around me: languages and cultures" resumed its work. The meeting was attended by of 5-11 graders of the town of Cheboksary (№ 40, 60, 2, 31, 59, 55, lyceums № 2, 3, gymnasia № 46) and Novocheboksarsk (school № 9).

A volunteer from Poland Anna Apanovich was invited to open the circle. Anna came to Russia under the program of the EU Volunteer Society (EVS). She gave a presentation on her country, told about life in Poland, its history, customs and traditions. Schoolchildren actively participated in a conversation with the Polish guest, and Anna responded to their questions. At the next lesson, pupils will learn about features of the Polish language, about "false friends" of a translator and learn the most common expression. 

Attending the circle is free, and we invite all schoolchildren to study English, German, Spanish, French and Latin.

In October in Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Moscow) an applied research conference with international participation dedicated to the 55^th anniversary of the medical faculty of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia took place. The conference had 11 sections in different fields of medicine. In the section «Surgery» a 5^th-year studentof the medical faculty of Chuvash State University Alexandra Ghymadeyeva headed the list and was awarded with a certificate for internship in Budapest (Hungary).
