3rd year students of ChuvSU medical faculty, Sergey Rybakov and Anna Vasilieva, became winners in the projects conveyor at the youth education forum of socio-innovative development "Proektorium-2019”. The third Interuniversity session, which was held from the 29t of July to the 9th of August in Volgograd, gathered the most active students from different parts of the country. During the final day of the session the projects conveyor was held, where the projects of Anna Vasilyeva "In the Name of Family Cohesion” and the project of Sergey Rybakov “Ecoquest "Hunt for Tyre Casings" were presented and supported by the jury.

The rating of Russian higher educational institutions "National Recognition: Best Higher Educational Institutions of 2019” was published, it analyzes the quality of scientific and pedagogical staff of a higher educational institution through recognition of its scientific, innovative and scientific and practical achievements by domestic professional community. According to the results of a survey performed by experts of the Internet portal “UniverExpert” – Academic Critic”, I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University became the 27th among classical universities with state accreditation and the 77th in the overall ranking of higher educational institutions among 695 higher educational institutions of the country.
The main principles of the "National Recognition" ranking includes several areas: assessing the higher educational institution through its key personnel – basic academic teaching staff; evaluating the significance of each subject, in which the University carries on its activities; recognition of professional, innovative and scientific and practical achievements by the Russian scientific community (this rating is based on simple arithmetic operations with Hirsch index); national recognition as the nomenclature of subject areas – State Rubricator of Scientific and Technical Information (SRSTI).
In this ranking, there are indicators for the subjects. So, ChuvSU took the 10th place in the subject "Electrical Engineering».

On the 13t of August, the Minister of education and youth policy of the Chuvash Republic, S.V. On the 8th of August the meeting of the University Admission Board chaired by the Rector, A.Yu. Aleksandrov, examined the issues on admission to the first year of full-time studying to the main competitive places of those entering at the second stage, for each direction training (specialty); that for those coming to study in the University by Master's degree programmes to places within a target quota and to the key competitive places in the framework of admission quotas; that for those entering the University under contracts on rendering paid education services. The head University and Alatyrsky branch of the University enrolled 1423 persons to the full-time course of studying by Bachelor, specialist degrees and Master's degree under the admission quotas which makes 100% of admission quotas given to the University by the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation for admission to full-time study by Bachelor, specialist degrees and Master's degree programmes in 2019.

According to the results of the competition announced by the European Union Erasmus + Programme – Jean Monnet Activities 2019 a joint project of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University and N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University was supported.
In the category «Support to Associations" the project of Certification Association “Russian Register” (the largest and the most internationally recognized Russian certification and expert organization) «QA in Russian HE: integration with European approaches – integration into European space» ("Quality Assurance in Russian Higher Education: European Approaches Integration – Integration into the European space") was supported, in which our University acts as a joint perpetrator along with N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University. In total 15 Russian projects out of 285 projects were supported that received grants under this program.
The Jean Monnet programme is aimed at increasing knowledge about the processes of European integration through teaching, research and debate on topics related to history, politics, economics and legislation of the European Union, as well as relations of the EU with other regions of the world.

On the 3rd of August in the University Palace of Culture the Rector, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, met with ChuvSU representatives who participated in the Privolzhskiy Federal District Youth Forum «iVolga 2.0 ", which took place from the 23rd to the 31st of July in Samara region.
Students told about the results of the Forum. The results are impressive: ChuvSU representatives for the first time in the history of our University brought two federal grants totaling 600 000 rubles and a victory of the University Theatre "Apricot Garden" in nomination "Best Stage Direction " at the II Festival of PFD youth theatres. Winners of the grant contest of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs became a student of the Medical Faculty, Elena Antonova, (the project “Visual Science”) and a student of Applied Mathematics, Physics And Information Technologies Faculty, Anna Mikayelyan (the project "Summer Festival Student VIA “By drum (Not Care a Wit About)"). The team of the Chuvash Republic included Anastasia Kurbatova (Faculty of Radioelectronics and Automation), Christina Stepanova (Chemical-Pharmaceutical Faculty), Anastasia kozlova (Applied Mathematics, Physics and Information Technologies Faculty), Vladimir Nikiforov (Faculty of Energy and Electrical Engineering), Mikhail Timofeev (Faculty of Management and Social Technologies) who became silver winners in the interregional military sports game "iVolga – Bird of Peace".
The meeting with the Rector was also attended by the winners of the grant competition organized by Rosmolodezh Agency, which took place within the framework of the All-Russian youth educational forum "Territory of Meanings (Moskovskaya oblast, 21-27 July, thematic change" Eco-environment – volunteers”). Three projects of the Chuvash State University students and active participants in the movement “Medical volunteers of the Republic of Chuvashiya” were supported by grants at the Youth Forum “Terrotory of Meanings”: Igor Filippov (the project “You Need to know about Your Health!") received 100 000 rubles; Victoria Ivanova (the project "Strong Back – Supporting Element of Our Health") – 100 000 rubles; Marina Semyonova (the project “Everyone Can Save”) – 150 000 rubles.
In total, at two youth forums the University students won 950 000 rubles for implementing their innovative projects.
The Rector, A. Yu. Aleksandrov, congratulated participants of the forums "iVolga 2.0" and "Territory of Meanings” with excellent results, thanked them for their active participation in project activities and wished further success. The participants of the meeting also discussed a plan for implementing their innovative projects and participating in the upcoming youth forums.
ChuvSU Students Will Pass Training in China by Academic Mobility Programme

Three students of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, Anna Krasnova (Faculty of Economics), Anastasia Borisova (Foreign Languages Faculty) and Adelia Guryashkina (Faculty of Economics) will pass training in 2019-2020 academic year in Henan University (China, Henan province) by the program "The Chinese language and culture”. This will be the third group of our students arriving to this University.
Anna Krasnova has already studied the Chinese language at Anhui University (Anhui Province) and at the Southwest Petroleum University (Sichuan province): "China is a very interesting country, that is why I'm really looking forward to September, to discover the new province. As the experience showed, visits to China bring students together, so I think that here I will meet new interesting people. We go by an educational program, that is why I want to start studying and to plunge into the world of Chinese culture”.
Anastasia Borisova attended Chinese language courses at ChuvSU and has a basic level of language proficiency: "I haven't been to China, but I am very glad that soon will be in the country, which is so much spoken about. As I'm going there to study the Chinese language, I expect that my elementary level of Chinese will uplevel to the one which will make me be able to freely communicate with the locals. I'm also looking forward to the opportunity to visit new places, to meet new people, to change the environment and for the first time to try to live in another country. I hope that this fruitful experience will have a positive influence on my future profession of a translator".
And Adelia begins the study the complex language from the scratch: "For me starting to study Chinese is an excellent opportunity to gain the knowledge that will prove necessary in the future. So I focused on getting the skills of speaking, overcoming difficulties in studying characters and mastering intonations. I hope to meet with remarkable people and plunge into the cultural features of China. I don't know yet how China will affect my life, but I do know that it will be an interesting path”.

Today I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU hosted the press-conference on the results of participating in the intensive "Island 10-22" among the 100 leading high school teams in the country. According to the majority of ratings (sports and educational activity, outstanding advances, the number of agreements, volumes of digital traces and other) the Chuvash team became a confident middle-place holder among the top 100 universities of Russia specially selected by the Education Ministry to participate in the “Island”.
The outcomes of taking part in the educational forum were summarized by the Rector, Andrey Aleksandrov, under whose leadership the team achieved good results. At the Forum Andrey Aleksandrov introduced the University digital development programme "University as a driver of transition to digital energy» and received positive feedback from both the jury and participants. Several federal universities expressed their willingness to engage in joint development of technological and educational products.
Background
The educational intensive "Island 10-22" was completed on the 22nd of July in Skoltekh. It was attended by 1.5 thousand people, representing 100 teams of universities and scientific and educational centers from 72 districts of the country. The organizers of this intensive were the Ministry of science and higher education, University 20.35, STI, Skolkovo Foundation, the Russian venture company, the Agency for strategic initiatives, Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization "Digital Economy".
The total number of events of the "Islands" exceeded 2 thousand, including 239 laboratory modules, 231 Master-classes (including more than 50 on the topic of artificial intelligence), as well as lectures and practical classes aimed at forming teams, creating projects, inclusion of universities in implementing a technological breakthrough.
During this intensive university teams launched more than 300 inter-university projects in the areas of data-based management, creation of new personalized educational formats, joint development of artificial intelligence technologies.

Since 2015 the Chuvash State University has been collaborating with the Economic University in Bratislava (Slovakia). For several years our students pass a half-year internships in this University receiving scholarships of the Ministry of education of the Slovak Republic. In 2019-2020 academic year during one semester a student of ChuvSU Economic Faculty (profile “International economic relations and business"), Andrey Gerdo, will study in Slovakia. It will be Andrey’s second trip in the Economic University in Bratislava. Training is given in English; those who wish can concurrently study the Slovak language.
In 2017 a prizewinner of International Olympiad in the Russian language «Gramotey», Philip Kalash, a student of the University of Economics in Bratislava, passed training at the language school of our University for free.

An Associate Professor of General, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Anastasia Alexeyeva, received a state support for scientific work on developing high quality synthetic dyes that can be used in different fields. A grant of 600 thousand rubles will be directed to purchasing equipment and reagents necessary to finalize the project launched. The Dean of the Medical Faculty, V.N. Diomidova, gave a tour of the medical faculty, told about innovative technologies in future doctors training, told about supply of technical equipment at the Centre for accreditation and simulation training, the Anatomical Museum, the class of digital microscopy.
Pei Ming and U Faye arrived in the Chuvash Republic through ChuvSU Supplementary Education Center to organize training by the program of supplementary and professional education for specialists – chiropractors of the Chuvash Republic by the course of traditional Chinese medicine. In spring 2019 our educational institutions concluded a cooperation agreement. Classes are held on the basis of "Chuvashiyakurort".
BACKGROUND:
The beginning of cooperation was put up by an official visit of delegations of City District Anqing of Anhui Province of the People's Republic of China headed by the Chairman of the People's political consultative council the Anqing District Council, Chzhan Czinzhuy to ChuvSU Chinese cultural centre which took place on the 20th of August 2016. The members of the Chinese delegation supported the initiative of ChuvSU Medical Faculty on studying the traditional Chinese medicine by Chuvash specialists.
During two years there were meetings and discussions with representatives of the Anqing Higher Medical College, which discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of medicine, including the exchange of ChuvSU medical students and Anqing Higher Medical College students with the purpose of their passing internship in the territories of the twin cities.
On the 12th of March 2019 in Anqing Higher Medical College the presentation of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University and its medical faculty was made, the Dean of ChuvSU Medical Faculty, V. N. Diomidova, gave the lecture "Ultrasonic Diagnosis of Gastric Pathology" as well as the contract on creating the Centre of traditional Chinese medicine at the Medical Faculty of Chuvash State University was signed.

From the 16th of July to the 25th of July 2019 the Hunan province, China (PRC) hosts the VI Chinese-Russian Youth Forum "The Volga – the Yangtze."
Russian students get acquainted with the work of local universities, high-tech enterprises, attend lectures of leading Chinese scientists, get acquainted with the history and traditional culture of China and the Hunan province. So, students of delegations from the Chuvash Republic, Saratov and Samara regions visited Zoomlion Science Park and the art gallery named after Lee Czyczyan.
The representatives of the Russian delegation do not only get acquainted with the rich history and culture of China, but tell about their regions as well.
The delegation of Chuvashia presented a Chuvash folk dance and a rousing song in the native language, as well as prepared sweet gifts for Chinese friends. And then the Chinese and Russian students planted trees, testifying to the friendship of the two countries’ youth.
BACKGROUND. On the 16th of July 2019 the town of Changsha (China, the Hunan province) hosted the opening ceremony of the VI Chinese-Russian Youth Forum «The Volga – the Yangtze» where a member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yun, and Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in VFD, Oleg Mashkovcev, took part. The Russian delegation includes more than 130 student youth representatives of higher educational institutions of the Volga Federal District. The Chuvash Republic is represented by eight students of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, I. Ya. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University and the Chuvash State Agricultural Academy.
Russia and China are countries with rich historical and cultural heritage, extensive experience of mutually beneficial cooperation. A new impetus to the further development of cooperation was received in the last few years, including through establishing the format «The Volga – the Yangtze», which established close business and cultural relationship between the regions of the Volga Federal District and the provinces of upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. Currently this format made it possible to achieve significant results in the humanitarian sphere: dozens of agreements on bilateral contacts at the University level were signed, annual academic exchanges among universities were established, joint research is under way, as well as conferences and seminars are held, an Association of universities "The Volga – the Yangtze” was created.

For sure there will be people who carefully read our diary of educational intensive course "Island 10-22" and ask themselves: why does our University need to get into the top 100 teams in Russia?
Let's examine three key points.
1. Team’s training.
It is one thing to come up with new projects and to dream about their implementing in different aspects of the University’s activity, staying in Cheboksary. It is quite a different thing – to attend the master class given by the head of the company, which implements these technologies, to try to create a VR project independently, to ask direct questions about the cost of the project, the possibility for the experts to come to the University and about joint implementation of new digital technologies at ChuvSU. Ask, for example, Anna Zavorzaeva, because in the coming months VR will be an integral part of the Palace of culture, and then in several faculties.
2. Communication.
Even those 12 persons who entered the team gathered around the table before the intensive course once a year. Different profiles, directions and projects. Imagine how rarely 100 Russian universities gather, their teams’ leaders have been living, studying and designing together in a 24/7 mode for two weeks. Let’s reveal a secret that after this intensive the University will have serious partnership agreements. Telephone directory of every ChuvSU team member has already included a hundred contacts of subdivisions’ heads of universities from across the country. On the "Island" networking is a special system, it is impossible not to meet and not to seek common growth points for further partnership with the Ural Federal University. Ask Darya Troeshestova – the best participant of the laboratory, yesterday selected as such by experts on the outcomes of 5-days’ work, which allowed ChuvSU team to break on 13-th place in the current ranking of teams in the "Island".
3. Transformation.
Perhaps, it is the main objective of the island. Scientific technical information (STI) is a program that would give Russia the opportunity to make a technological breakthrough and to become a world leader in a dozen of industries of the future – aero-net, energy-net, neuro-net, tech-net and others. The task of university teams is to choose the market where the University will make a key breakthrough and become a leader in research, pedagogical and scientific techniques. But it is not enough to choose – it is necessary to prove the STI, why there are enough grounds to assume global breakthrough on the basis of the given University, to form a pool of selected ecosystem partners in the market and to persuade in availability of necessary resources as well as to present the road map for its full implementation. For ChuvSU this is, of course, digital energy market. It is important to note that we are not talking about turning in one-field high school, but about choosing the driver for development: tomorrow in technology engineers will need designers, lawyers and dozens of other fellow humanitarians.
Today on the "Island" is the open day. Round tables will be held by "Rosseti», «Rosatom», «Rustech», «Gazpromneft», and other major companies in Russia. There will be an opportunity to offer best practices personally to top-managers.

Four projects of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University ranked among the winners of the All-Russian contest selection of Rosmolodzh (Russian Youth):
«Interregional Creative Festival Marathon "December» (4 million 600 thousand rubles);
«Generational Bridge 2.0» (500 thousand rubles);
Regional web resource – web portal «Chuvashia’s Soldiers» (350 thousand rubles);
«Interepiscopate Orthodox Youth Forum of the Volga Region Federal District» (800 thousand rubles).
This year 2 553 projects from 381 educational institutions totaling more than 4.2 billion rubles took part in the contest. Based on the results of the Expert Committee, 609 projects from 255 educational institutions were supported.

Professor L.A. Taymasov, Professor O.V. Yegorova and senior lecturer T.V. Semenova participated in the XIII Congress of Russian anthropologists and ethnologists. The Congress’ organizers were the Association of anthropologists and ethnologists of Russia, the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Russian Federation Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Federal Agency for nationalities, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Foundation for Basic Research. The Congress received greetings from the President of the Russian Federation, V. V. Putin, and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, R.N. Minnikhanov. At the plenary meeting, statements were made by representatives of the Russian Federation President’s Administration, the State Duma of the Russian Federation Federal Assembly, the Federal Agency for nationalities, the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as 8 plenary reports were made. In total 66 sections and 2 round tables were held. There were more than a hundred scientific meetings which presented the basic scientific directions of modern anthropology and ethnology, as well as of related scientific disciplines.
The Chuvash State University scientists made reports "The role of Kazan University in the development of the Chuvash ethnography", "The role of Christian education in the development of interethnic communication in Middle Volga region in the second half of the XIX – the beginning of the XX century", “Gender relations and interaction in marriage rites of the Armenians of Chuvashia». The Congress was attended by more than 800 scientists from research institutions, public and educational organizations from 74 cities of Russia and 20 foreign countries.
