A Graduate of the Chuvash State University Tatyana Kucherova Was Recognized As the Best Foreign Student ofGuizhou University

On the 4^th of July in Guizhou University (People's Republic of China) the ceremony of awarding the best foreign students took place. The University trains students from countries such as Russia, Canada, the United States, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Mongolia, Italy, Thailand, India, Laos, Indonesia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, etc. Teaching is conducted in the Chinese language. According to tradition, the best foreign students are chosen among the standouts, who showed good results in examinations, among active participants in the activities of the University and the province.

By the results of two academic years Kucherova Tatyana, a 2018 graduate of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University direction of training "Journalism" was recognized as one of the best foreign students of the Chinese University. Tatiana was awarded with a diploma and a valuable gift from the University. The awarding took place in her absence, because Tatiana is now staying in Cheboksary. Even without her participation many students of Guizhou University on that day could take a photo with her: a banner of the Chinese University was decorated with the photo of Tatiana and her story about studying in China. Yesterday she received honors diploma on ChuvSU graduation from the Rector A. Yu. Aleksandrov.

The Chuvash State University Is the Winner of the Nationwide Contest of Youth Projects

The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs has summed up the results of the nationwide contest of youth projects. Applications for taking part in the competition were filed from 380 universities of the country. Projects’ assessing was organized on the platform of the automated information system "Youth of Russia".

The Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulianov became one of the winners of the nationwide contest among educational institutions of higher education. ChuvSU youth project has received a grant support amounting to more than 3 million rubles.

I.N.Ulianov Chuvash State University actively cooperates with universities in China, in particular with Guizhou, Henan, Anhui, Sichuan universities, Anhui Polytechnical University etc. ChuvSU students annually pass free training at Chinese universities. They study the Chinese language and culture.

The Centre for studying China and the Chinese cultural centre function at the Chuvash State University.

In April 2018 ChuvSU was visited by Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Mr. U Incin. During the meeting, specific proposals were made for further interaction in the sphere of education, science and culture development.

In late August this year a teacher from Henan University Liu Cyancyan will arrive at ChuvSU. She will teach the Chinese language beginning with September 2018. In 2018-2019 academic year the Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulianov announces the training program "Translator (the Chinese language) in the sphere of professional communication” with the prospect of continuing education and training in China. Duration: 1 year/3 years. The training program foresees regular meetings devoted to the Chinese culture, literature and history, lectures on the history of Chinese culture, classical and modern Chinese literature, the tea culture of China.

The Rector of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University A. Yu. Aleksandrov received a letter from A.S. Pushkin Brest State University expressing appreciation for organizing the visit of the Chief of ChuvSU international activities office E.L. Nikolaev in Brest in order to conduct negotiations on international cooperation between the two universities. At a meeting with the Vice-Rector for scientific work of the Brest University Budko A.E. and the Chief of international relations division I.V. Pryymak issues of productive interaction between the universities were discussed, in particular, joint holding of an International conference.

During the visit of the Chief of ChuvSU international activities office in Belarus there were meetings with the heads of international services of Brest State Technical University, P.O. Sukhoy Gomel State Technical University, the dean of energy faculty of P.O. Sukhoy Gomel State Technical University, who were acquainted with innovative developments of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University.

Results of Sporting Activities Are Summed Up

On the 27^th of June 27 summing up the results of the University’s sporting life was held. It was attended by the head of extracurricular work and security department O.N. Viktorov, the head of physical culture and sports department Yermolayev A.H., the head of the Sports Club O. Yu. Simonova.

During the 2017-2018 academic year within the framework of student competitions there were 22 competitions as a part of Spartakiad among faculties, 14 competitions as a part of Spartakiad among student dormitories, 17 competitions among freshmen and 14 competitions as a part of traditional sports meetings for ChuvSU lecturers and employees " Cheerfulness and health”.

This academic year the following competitions were organized: integrated competitions among teams of freshmen and schools-partners for the Rector's prizes; competitions in mini-soccer among freshmen for the prizes of the Rector; Open Championship of the University in army hand-to-hand combat among students of higher and specialized secondary educational institutions, 3 competitions beyond student competitions, as well as 7 competitions among students of the 2^nd and 3^rd year of study.

In the student sports contest among faculties’ teams in 2017-2018 academic year the team of the medical faculty became the winner, the II place was won by faculty of economics and the III place was won by faculty of power engineering and electrical engineering.

In the Spartakiad among student dormitories the 1st place was taken by the team of hostel № 3, the II place – by hostel № 6, the III place – by a representative team of hostel № 5.

In Spartakiad among freshmen the 1st place was won the team of the medical faculty, the 2nd place – by the faculty of economics, the 3rd place – by the faculty of power engineering and electrical engineering.

In the traditional Spartakiad "Cheerfulness and health" winners beyond competition was the team of physical culture and sports department, the top place was won by the team of the medical faculty, the faculty of economics became the silver medalist, the III place was taken by administrative subdivision team.

In 2017-2018 academic year students, employees and lecturers of the University actively participated in passing standards of Russian national physical culture and sports complex GTO.

According to the results of Universiade among higher educational institutions of the Chuvash Republic in 2017-2018 academic year our University combined team won the 1^st team place. Within the framework of Universiade ChuvSU team became a winner in male and female volleyball, in male and female basketball, arm wrestling, badminton, table tennis, swimming, men's mini-football, athletics.

ChuvSU Residents Came out At the International Level

On the 15^th-16^th of June the Federal Center of traumatology, orthopaedics and joint endoprosthesis (Smolensk) hosted the 5^th International Olympiad among residents, trained by speciality "Traumatology and Orthopedics" where the Russian Association of traumatologists-orthopedists participated.

24 teams from different cities of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus took part in the Olympiad. ChuvSU residents V.V. Frolov, A.E. Davydov and A.V. Alekseeva, studying at the department of traumatology, orthopaedics and extremal medicine under the guidance of leading traumatologists orthopedists of the Republic took part in it for the first time.

The Olympiad format using clinical situations modeling made it possible to assess residents’ training level, showed the importance of using simulation training technology in training specialists.

The first experience of participating in such a large-scale event with great scientific and practical significance, proved to be beneficial for our team: young doctors had unique lectures, acquired the ability to expand the circle of professional communication, learned about high training level of competitors from leading institutions of Russia, received a new impetus to knowledge and success.

Our residents receivedacknowledgement of the President of Russian Association of traumatologists-orthopedists, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Sergey Mironov as well as an invitation to participate in the 6^th International Olympiad among students majoring in “Traumatology and Orthopedics ", which will be held in 2019.

Representatives of the Chuvash State University Were Honored with Awards of the VI Volga Region Interregional Competition of University Publications

The results of the VI Volga region interregional competition of University publications “University book-2018” were summed up. Lecturers of higher educational institutions, researchers, publishing houses, editorial-publishing departments and other publishing divisions of universities, research and academic institutions, public and creative organizations, publishing houses of the Volga Federal District, producing publications for higher education took part in the contest. The contest received more than two hundred scientific and teaching publications (books and journals).

Based on analysis of competitive publications experts noted a high level of publishing training, quality printing and decorative design of publications, as well as their interesting content component.

The winner in nomination "Best scientific publication in art and design" is V.A. Vasiliev, doctor of culturology, Professor of archaeology, ethnography and regional history department of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University for his monograph "Role of an artist in the process of cross-cultural interaction. CreativeactivityofA.A. Kokel”.

A.A. Danilov, Doctor of historical sciences, Professor of journalism department of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University and A.A. Tarasova, a graduate of ChuvSU journalism department with her monograph "Information security of children in regions of the Russian Federation at the beginning of the twenty-first century" became winners in the nomination "Best scientific publication in legal sciences".

The tutorial by T.F. Timofeeva, V.V. Timofeev "Arbitration process" is recognized the best educational publication in legal sciences.

A team of authors of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University became winners in the nomination "Best instructional book on technical sciences" for their study guide «Information technologies in process supervisory and operational-technological management» (V.I. Breger, V.M. Shevtsov) as well as another team of authors of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University for their practicum “Convective heat transfer” (V.V. Afanasyev, V.N., Orlov, V.A. Tarasov).

The Team of Chuvash State University Mechanical Engineering Department Is the Silver Medalist of Nationwide Robotic Olympiad

Innopolis University based (Republic of Tatarstan) competitions of Nationwide Robotic Olympiad finished, which brought together 500 representatives from 50 Russian regions. Students of mechanical engineering faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University Sergey Limonov and Sergey Mishin (whose mentors are lecturers S.S. Sorokin and S.V. Solin) became silver prize winners in the "advanced" category.

Participants of the "advanced" category were to create a robot that could earn the maximum number of points in the competition Tetrastack – robotic "Tetrix". The robot was supposed to find, identify, and stack colorful figures, called "tetracubes" in a special stacking form as a vertical rectangle. Winners, prize-holders and robot technicians noted by judges will come again in August to the Russian IT-University for a federal training session. According to its results Innopolis University will form a national team of Russia, which in November will take part in the World Olympiad of robots in Thailand.

On the 25^th of June the head of Chuvashia Michael Ignatiev took part in the opening ceremony of the 12^th international summer school-conference "Hydrodynamics of high speeds and shipbuilding” devoted to the 155^th anniversary of Academician A.N. Krylov, which was held in the Academic Council Assembly Hall of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University. The event was attended by the Minister of education and youth policy of the Chuvash Republic Alexander Ivanov and the Rector of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University Andrey Alexandrov.

The conference was attended by well-known scientists, engineers and designers, postgraduates and young scientists, who discussed contemporary issues of hydrodynamics and shipbuilding, visited the birthplace of A.N. Krylov.

The conference participants were welcomed by the head of Chuvashia Michael Ignatiev. "The school-conference “Hydrodynamics of high speeds and shipbuilding” became a tradition for representatives of scientific community. It is a unique platform for exchanging experience and good knowledge”, he said. According to Michael Ignatiev, public policy is aimed at supporting scientific, educational and innovative activities. The Chuvash Republic pays great attention to the development of human capital. Every third ruble of the Republic’s consolidated budget is passed to education. The number of grants and awards to support young scientists increases. The head of Republic expressed confidence that the conference will make a significant contribution to modern science. "I hope that communication of famous scientists with young researchers will greatly assist the latter in their future scientific activity," he concluded.

The Rector of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University Andrey Alexandrov stressed that the University always gladly accepted the scientific community. Andrey Alexandrov thanked the Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, Professor of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, an Honored figure of science of the Russian Federation Aleksey Terentyev, upon an initiative of whom the school-conference "Hydrodynamics of high speeds and shipbuilding” had been held since 1980. "The idea of All-Union summer schools in hydrodynamics was supported by a distinguished scientist, Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences Leonid Sedov, who was a permanent Chairman of the program committee of the schools up to 1996. A huge contribution to organization and holding the first school was made by the first Chuvash State University Rector Semen Saykin. These people predetermined the future of the summer school. Relevance of the topic is confirmed by high interest of scientists from many regions of Russia and abroad”, he said.

The project "Organization and conducting the XII International Summer School-Conference “Hydrodynamics of high speeds and shipbuilding” was supported by the Russian Foundation for basic research. An honorable guest – a participant of the conference is the great-granddaughter of A.N. Krylov Maria Sergeevna Kapitsa -- Candidate of psychological sciences, Deputy Director of the laboratory of labour psychology of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.

A Nationwide Seminar of Young Scientists Completed Its Work at the Chuvash State University

From the 28^th of May to the 1^st of June the historical-geographical faculty of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University hosted the XII seminar of young scientists of universities, united by Inter-university research-coordinating council on the problems of erosion, estuarine processes and river bed evolution. Seminars for young scientists of universities, which are united by the council, by tradition are held every 2 years on the basis of different universities and institutions in the country. Participants of the XII seminar in Cheboksary were representatives of leading universities of Russia: MSU, MSPU, Belgorod SU, KSU, Perm, Bryansk State universities, ChuvSU, Nizhny Novgorod SPU and others.

The seminar’s opening session was attended by I.N. Ulianov ChuvSu Rector A.Yu. Aleksandrov, managers and staff of the Federal Agency for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography in the Chuvash Republic, Chuvash Center of hydrometeoservice, Cheboksary branch of Main Botanical Garden, the Chuvash branch of the territorial geological information fund in the Volga Federal District, CJSC Institute "Giprovodhoz", students and teachers of ChuvSU historical-geographical faculty and others.

The seminar was moderated by M.M. Ivanov, junior scientific researcher at the research laboratory of soil erosion and river bed evolution of Lomonosov Moscow State University Geographical Faculty, Deputy Chairman of the Youth Bureau of Interuniversity research-coordinating council on the problems of erosion, estuarine processes and river bed evolution. The seminar participants listented to 50 reports. Based on the results 3 best reports were chosen. The winners received a reward, a recently published monograph of Chalov R.S. on erosion-river bed systems.

The Organizing Committee of the seminar – ChuvSU historical-geographical faculty also prepared an extensive cultural program, including a tour of Cheboksary, visiting V.I. Chapayev museum, the tractor museum, the ethnographic museum "Suvar". The seminar also included bus scientific excursions to Cheboksary biological wastewater treatment plant, to Cheboksary hydroelectric power station, during which the problems of waterworks functioning were discussed; acquaintance with the landscapes of trans-Volga region and paleo-geographic characteristics of the Volga River in area of Cheboksary; studying hydroecological features of lake Astrakhanka. During water tours by Cheboksary water-storage basin visitors watched active abrasion-landslide processes along the shores of the water-storage basin.

The guests and participants thanked a lot the leadership of I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU and the organizing committee of the seminar – geography department of ChuvSU historical-geographical faculty for a rich educational program.

I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University Is the Winner of the V All-Russian contest "University Press-Service" and a Finalist of the Contest Project "MEDIA-Activity of Universities of the Russian Federation"

Results of the V All-Russian contest "University press-service” are summed up by information agency "Interfax" and the magazine "Accreditation in education". Among the winners for the fourth consecutive year is Department of information and press service of the Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulianov.

In total the competition attracted over 200 Russian universities. According to the regulation, all universities, whose BSS-networks were connected to an automated system for gathering news of the site akvobr.ru participated in the contest. Over 3 months all news materials of participants’ official sites were moderated and evaluated based on several criteria.

Basic criteria for evaluating the work of University press-service are frequency of publications, their quality (completeness, content, structure, graphic content), target range (teaching staff, scientists, students, applicants, etc.). Subjects of the news flow (percentage of thematic materials to the total number) were taken into account as well.

The first results of the contest project "MEDIA-activity of the RF universities" were also summed up. They were voiced in the report "Paradoxes of information openness", presented within business program framework of the first international media forum in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. 8 winners of the All-Russian contest "University press-service-2018" reached the final of the All-Russian contest project "MEDIA-activity of the RF universities" and had the opportunity to confirm a high level of information services functioning at federal and international levels. Among them is I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University.

The results of the finals of the All-Russian contest project "MEDIA-activity of the RF universities", the official slogan of which is "Quality for the future”, will be summed up in late June 2018. For the results to be open and independent, an independent expert commission of the project was organized. Experts in the field of information activities and university education quality assessment are involved. The general partner of the contest project is the informational agency "Interfax" (Moscow).

The Head of the Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatiev Met with Participants of the XVI Festival "Russian Students’ Spring-2018"

On the 1^st of June the head of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatiev met with participants of the XVI Festival "Russian students’ spring-2018” at I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU Palace of Culture.

The meeting was also attended by the Chuvash Republic Minister of education and youth policy Alexander Ivanov, I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU Rector Andrey Aleksandrov, the Rector of the Chuvash State Agricultural Academy Andrey Makushev, the Rector of Cheboksary Cooperative Institute Valery Andreyev, the head of the town of Cheboksary, I. N. Ulianov ChuvSU Pro-Rector on scientific work Eugeny Kadyshev.

As we have informed, the XVI All-Russia festival "Students’ spring-2018" was held from the 15^th to the 20^th of May in Stavropol. Chuvashia team composed of 75 representatives won 6 prizes. The delegation comprised students of I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, I. Ya. Yakovlev Chuvash State Pedagogical University, Chuvash State Agricultural Academy, Cheboksary Cooperative Institute, Interregional competence center – Cheboksary electromechanical college.

The head of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatiev congratulated students with their victory. Mikhail Ignatiev noted that the region had created favorable conditions for creative and professional realization of plans for the youth and participation in various social projects helped young people to accumulate experience, find new friends, broadens their outlook. "I am grateful to the leaders of universities and your teachers for the support that they provide you. Your aspiration to become worthy citizens of Russia, real professionals deserves respect”, said Mikhail Ignatiev.

I. N. Ulianov Chuvash State University Rector Andrey Aleksandrov congratulated young people with their victory and noted that the results obtained by the students suggested that the system of vocational education and full development established in Chuvashia, met modern standards. He noted that the University would continue to maintain the active youth: "I am proud that the Republic is promoted by students. Your progress motivates us to help you more”.
